CIAPM's portfolio of demonstration projects comprises broad collaborative efforts across institutions and sectors. The activities range from discovery to clinical implementation, aiming to enable more precise, individually targeted prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, and to illustrate that precision medicine is making a difference now.

Representative Precision Medicine Research Program: Doctoral Student and Partnership Research RFAs
CIAPM is pleased to announce two Requests for Applications (RFAs) for representative research within California that includes underrepresented populations and addresses health disparities. One RFA is to support doctoral student research, and the other is to support academic-community or academic-academic partnerships.

Improving Breast Cancer in Latinas: A Multi-Tiered Approach
This project aims to better understand the role of genetics in Latinas who develop breast cancer, and to increase community awareness of hereditary cancer risk and genetic testing.

This project applies precision medicine genomic profiling to find new treatments and to better match certain kinds of breast tumors to cancer existing therapies.

Reducing Cancer Disparities Through Innovative Community-Academic Partnerships
The objective of this project is to develop, implement, and evaluate a Community Health Worker approach to cancer care that increases access to precision medicine at every stage of treatment.

This project successfully used artificial intelligence to automate brain scan evaluation.

Early Prediction of Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events Using Remote Monitoring
This project monitored several types of patient data, including information from wearable health devices, to better predict who may be about to have a heart attack or stroke.
