California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine
The California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine (CIAPM) was launched in 2015 to support cutting-edge biomedical and health research that harnesses data to generate new insights, prioritize whole-person care, and advance community-driven solutions to reduce health inequities. Our mission is to drive the development of innovative technologies and personalized strategies and to coordinate cross-sector partnerships for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to improve the health and well-being of all Californians.

About the Initiative
CIAPM is a partnership between the State of California and other public and private entities. We support cross-sector collaborations among the state’s scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs and patient participants, enabling them to turn available large data sets and technical innovation into better health outcomes.
What We Do
CIAPM's activities span a multitude of areas with many partnerships across California and with the federal government, including a portfolio of demonstration and non-demonstration projects and collaborations with other state agencies.
